Hjaltland

Hjaltland was constructed at the Finnish shipyard now known as MEYER TURKU. The ro-ro ferry was built for Northlink Orkney-Shetland.

The shipyard delivered three structurally identical ships in 2002: Hjaltland, Hrossey and Hamnavoe. All three car and passenger ferries now operate between the Scottish mainland and the Orkney and Shetland Islands. The ships sail under the flag of the United Kingdom and feature various restaurants, bars, lounges and a cinema.
