Stena Explorer

Stena Explorer is one of three high-speed ferries in the HSS 1500 Class that were built at the Finnish shipyard now known as MEYER TURKU. The catamaran ferry spent almost two decades operating between the Welsh town of Holyhead and Dún Laoghaire in Ireland.

The car and passenger ferry cruised at a speed of 40 knots and would even hit 51 knots when it wasn’t carrying a load. Stena Explorer was transferred to Turkey in 2015, where it is still used as a floating office at the Karmarine Shipyard.
