Safety is at the core of everything we do

Safety is an integral part of everything we do at Meyer Turku and remains a non-negotiable priority in every situation. We constantly work to reinforce and improve the everyday safety practices at the shipyard and our network.

Safety First – safety as a strategic goal

Safety First – safety as a strategic goal

The shipyard’s safety process ensures a safe, secure and sustainable working environment by managing risks, enforcing compliance and promoting a proactive safety culture throughout all phases of shipbuilding and investments. Safety is an integral part of our daily operations, and by 2028, we will have brought it to a new level in line with our strategy.

The shipyard’s own fire department ensures the safety of the work community 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Its role is to prevent accidents, prepare for various emergency scenarios and provide a rapid response to first-response and rescue calls across the shipyard. The fire department also serves as a fire safety consultant, supporting the shipyard’s units in the planning and execution of safe working methods.

First Whistle channel for reporting suspected misconduct

First Whistle channel for reporting suspected misconduct

Inappropriate conduct or policy breaches can occur in any organisation or work environment. It is vital that any undesirable behaviour or potential violations are reported as early as possible. Early reporting enables the organisation to investigate the situation and take the necessary measures.

Through the First Whistle channel, you can safely – and anonymously, if you wish – voice your concerns or report a suspected breach.
